Sector:
The project is the WA Museum Boola Bardip (meaning 'many stories' in Whadjuk Nyoongar language). This is a world-class cultural institution and a landmark project located in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre. Completed and opened in 2020, the $400 million development successfully integrates five meticulously restored heritage buildings with a striking, contemporary new structure. Designed by international architectural consortium Hassell + OMA, the museum offers nearly 7,000 square metres of gallery space, featuring both permanent and major temporary exhibitions that showcase the natural and cultural history of Western Australia with a 'People First' approach. The design features a sheltered public plaza, known as the 'City Room', and aims to be a vibrant, civic space for all Western Australians and global visitors. (Completed 2020).
