The wards C16 and C14 refurbishment projects were significant, targeted upgrades within the existing Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) in Nedlands, Western Australia. Ward C16 was refurbished into a state-of-the-art Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) and Delirium Care Unit (DCU), incorporating dementia-friendly design and a return to inboard ensuites. Ward C14 was refurbished as an Acute Medical Ward, increasing capacity and upgrading facilities to provide contemporary care for complex patients. Both projects delivered modern, specialised patient environments in a live hospital setting. (Completed in 2025).

Our Role

As the Superintendent Representative for the Department of Finance / Department of Health the role entailed acting as the formally delegated agent of the Superintendent, managing daily contractual, technical, and quality assurance processes on-site. This project involved the targeted upgrade and refurbishment of two acute wards at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. The Superintendent Representative was responsible for administering the contract on behalf of the Principal, assessing and making recommendations on claims for EOT, variations, and payment claims, and issuing directions and approvals within the sensitive environment of a live hospital setting, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing patient care.
